By now you have probably seen about a million different green powders on the market. They usually have some sort of leafy green, adaptogens, herbs, and even collagen or creatine now! Not that those things are bad necessarily…but what if you just want to boost your diet with more veggies and not add all of the extras?

That is personally how I use greens powders, so I decided to make a list of the ones that I would choose for my clients if that was their goal as well.

For this list I focused on simplicity of ingredients, actual greens (kale, spinach, etc), sea veggies like spirulina and chlorella since they are full of minerals, and even some plant proteins such as hemp since they are so easy to digest and also contain minerals like calciaum, iron and zinc.

  1. Possible Super Greens (my personal favorite)

Possible is a line of sport nutrition products from the well know brand Standard Process. It is whole-food based supplements such as protein powder, protein bars, electrolytes and more, but they grow most ofthe vegetables on their own farm which I find really cool. Standard Process has been around since 1929 and are used by doctors and health practitioners.

A potent blend of 21+ organic superfoods — including kale and buckwheat grown on our own certified organic farm. Every scoop delivers whole-plant greens, antioxidant-rich fruits, and nutrient-dense vegetables for lasting energy. Clean-label, vegan, and gluten-free. 30 servings per bag.

Ingredients: Organic Apple Extract, Organic Strawberry Fruit Powder, Organic Peach Powder,Organic Pineapple Fruit Powder, Organic Broccoli (Aerial Parts), Organic Kale (Aerial Parts), Organic Spinach,OrganicSweet Potato, Organic Chia Seed Powder, Organic Matcha Powder, Organic Buckwheat (Aerial Parts) Juice Powder, Organic Kelp,Organic Blue SpirulinaExtract,Organic alfalfa (Aerial Parts) Powder,OrganicBeet(Root),OrganicSpirulina Powder,OrganicBrusselsSprouts (Aerial Parts),Organic Barley (Aerial Parts), Organic Kidney Bean (Aerial Parts) Juice Powder, Organic Pea Vine (Aerial Parts) JuicePowder,Organic Moringa Powder, Organic Turmeric Powder, Organic Monk Fruit Extract.

I love this product because it is packed with fruits and vegetables, plus added boosts like spirulina, turmeric, matcha, and things you wouldn’t expect like buckwheat and pea vine. This greens powder is great for those who may not be getting enough produce in their day from lack of access, low appetite, or those who may not be able to digest many vegetables due to gut issues or illness. It is a great addition to any diet if you want to boost your vegetable intake.

2. Koyah Organic Greens

Pure freeze dried veggies, no fillers or anything else.

Organic Collard Greens Powder, Organic Broccoli Powder, & Organic Celery Powder

Koyah is one of my absolute favorite brands for freeze dried fruit and vegetable powders, not only for their ingredients, but also their quality. Koyah uses a drying process that keeps the nutritional integrity of the fruit or vegetable so you still get the benefits.

This greens powder is all veggies- that’s it! Just pure nutriton in a little pouch. I personally use this greens powder and I love how easy it is to add a dose of greens to your day just buy using a little scoop. One scoop equals 1 cup of greens! They also have so many other products but this one is a blend of Organic Kale Powder, Organic Spinach Powder, Organic Collard Greens Powder, Organic Broccoli Powder, & Organic Celery Powder so you get more bang for your buck.

3. Manitoba Harvest Hemp+ Superfood Smoothie Booster Glowing Greens

I am a big fan of hemp protein since it is so natural, and many people can tolerate it without digestive issues. This greens powder from Manitoba Harvest includes hemp protein powder, but also fruits and veggies for a nutritional boost!

This smoothie boost powder contains:

Defatted Hemp Seed Protein Powder*, Spinach Powder*, Kale Powder*, Pumpkin Powder*, Banana Powder*, Carrot Juice Powder*, Apple Juice Powder*, Beet Juice Powder*, Sweet Potato Powder*, Pomegranate Juice Powder*, Acerola Cherry Juice Powder*, Acai Powder*, Mushroom Powder*.
*Organic

It comes close to the nutrition in Possible Supergreens with the added benefit of of mushroom powder as well as 6 grams of protein from hemp protein.

This is not an extensive list, but these are 3 greens powders I use and recommend to add more nutrient density to your diet if you are struggling to get them in for any reason.

Sometimes gut issues, illness, or even not having much of an appetite can interfere with us getting proper nutrients so that is when I recommend adding these types of products to your diet.

I know products like greens powders, protein powders and superfoods can be expensive, but if you are trying to increase plant variety for your microbiome, or any of the reasons I just mentioned, they can really be beneficial.

Have you tried any of these product? Or do you have any you would like to share in the comments? I would love to hear your suggestions!
