Worth every penny. Shit worth buying 2024

I’ve started this blog at least 4 times and always find myself wanting to start over and trying to find the things I really want to write about. Well the day has come for me to stick to my first post. We’re gonna talk about stuff I love and think are actually worth your hard earned dollars.

These of course are MY own personal opinions and am in no way saying they are gonna be everyone’s favorites… but I am only sharing the things that have genuinely enhanced my life in some way. And who knows, they might just benefit you too!

First up let’s talk SKINCARE. I have rosacea, in particular the acne kind👎. I developed this awful condition in 2022 and I don’t really understand why or how but it has plagued me since. And I ve tried fixing my diet, my gut, stopping coffee, every rosacea skincare I can afford( and some I can’t)… but I still have it. But I have gained some control over flare ups.

My skin flared up

Currently I have found a skincare that has brought me SO MUCH relief from flare ups and I have to share. Beware though- she’s pricey! This brand is called Pai. Heard of it? I had too from fancy beauty gurus like Beauty By Brittany ( is she still around?), and other green beauty bloggers. So after being desperate I finally tried the “calm it kit”, which retails for $49 usd on their website. It has a cleanser, face towel, serum and moisturizer in trial sized bottles and it supposed to last about 2 weeks or so.

My skin after starting the calm it kit

In that 2 weeks my skin cleared almost completely up! I had very little redness, no pustules ( gross I know), and my skin was feeling more plump and hydrated. So I ordered the full size of the moisturizer, (The Anthemis) as well as the Instant Kalmer, which was not in the kit.

I will be ordering the full size of the serum that was in the kit, (The Light Fantastic), as well because it’s amazing. They offer tons of other skincare for different skin types/ concerns as well and they are CLINICALLY TESTED. That’s what makes a big difference to me. It means it actually works and why it’s so expensive. But worth it (to me).

More skincare that has been life changing for me is this amazing green tinted balm by Hero Cosmetics. It’s called Rescue Balm… and it does in fact live up to its name. Like I mentioned previously, I have rosacea, and this is so helpful at covering or toning down the redness on my cheeks (And sometimes nose, and chin). I first saw it when googling rosacea skincare and wasn’t sure if I should try it UNTIL I saw Shenae Grimes- Beech talking about it on my discover page on Instagram. And of course I started following her. She actually has very similar taste in clothes and her style in general is very close to mine so that was a happy accident! But she has rosacea! And she has a reel of her slathering this green goo all over and it looked amazing like regular skin! I was intrigued. I went to target and bought the tiny sample size and I was a an immediate fan. It comes in 3 sizes that range from $6.99 to $29.99 usd. I have been using it religiously since last year and I can’t go back. I definitely notice a difference in my skin when I don’t use it. It’s calming and concealing. Perfect.

Ok enough about my red face. The next product I think is worth your dollars ( in my opinion), is PERIOD UNDERWEAR. Yes underwear. I’m in my early 40’s so I still get periods. And let me tell you after 30 something years of my body bleeding for a week or so 12 times a year… I’m over it. I hate tampons, they’re disgusting and make my cramps worse. Pads are even more gross. I tried those disc things that you can use that are like the mestrual cup.. and I was not a fan of having to reach up there and pull it out in a public place. All of them leak too even if they say they are “leak proof”. I decided to splurge in 2023 and buy myself a few pairs of period undies from the brand The Period Co.

Period Co undies with The Honey Pot calming spray are a great duo

My life was changed forever! Not to sound dramatic, but I legitimately cannot believe how amazing these are. They keep you dry, they go up a little higher in the waist and kind of apply compression to your swollen belly which I find helps my cramps. They are comfortable, you don’t have to use a tampon with them.. so many pluses! I have nothing negative to say. I’m obsessed and for the rest of the time my body has a menstrual cycle, I will be using these. No more panic when I get my period and have no feminine products and have to rush to the store. It makes having a period more tolerable and way easier. They are also the most affordable brand out there. At $9 per pair for most of them, you can’t beat it. They also offer boxers and bicycle style undies that are $22 usd I believe. It will change your life.

I hope this list of products that changed my life will help you in some way, the way they have helped me. Are there any products that you absolutely can’t live without that you think I may like to try? Let me know! Thanks for reading and I ll see you in my next post.

  1. You’re GLOWING! 😍

Dude, in regards to the period products, I’m so glad that there are so many more options available now than there used to be. I haven’t tried period panties as anything more than a backup because I tend to sweat a lot and get funky, but I started using menstrual cups and they changed my life. I agree that there’s a big yuck factor when pulling them out and emptying them, though– I just empty mine every night in the comfort of my own bathroom 🙈

Aww thank you!🥰I just don’t like they way they feel and inserting/ taking them out but I’m also really glad there are so many options because everyone has different preferences.
